About the Tour
The majestic blue Danube—no other river in the world flows through as many countries. By land and by ship, we’ll discover four capital cities in five countries, several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and wonderful scenic, cultural, rural and culinary experiences too numerous to count! Spend days marveling at Europe’s most beautiful landscapes, and evenings docked so you can take in the night life of its magnificent cities—including two nights in Budapest, a CTD exclusive!
Before we board our luxury ship, we’ll immerse ourselves over three evenings in the splendor of Prague, whose 600 years of architecture remains unsullied by war or disaster. We’ll be dazzled by its maze of Old Town streets, Hundred Spires, famous Astronomical Clock, and charming cafes and boutiques. In charming Passau, Germany, we meet our deluxe ship, Amadeus SILVER II, your home for 7 nights! Next stop, a countryside visit outside Linz brings to life Austrian agriculture. The Baroque abbey of Melk awes before giving way to the stunning landscapes of Austria’s Wachau region. We’ll become immersed in the glittering city of Vienna and the legacies of its former monarchies. Then we’ll visit the Slovakian capital of Bratislava, with its classic Baroque castles and palaces, before calling on the small towns of Szentendre and Esztergom. All this builds to stunning Budapest—Hungary’s capital, whose imperial buildings dominate both banks of the River.
Join CTD President Steve Uelner and expert Discovery Director Sue Froidl for what promises to be a vacation of a lifetime!
